Wet weather, crash contributing to heavy traffic congestion in Brisbane

A MULTI-VEHICLE crash in Brisbane’s north is adding to heavy Friday afternoon traffic.

Police were called to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Gympie Arterial Rd at the Strathpine Rd off ramp northbound at 2:20pm.

It is understood two people from one of the vehicles have left the scene, with fears the car was stolen.

Nobody was injured in the crash and police remain on scene.

Traffic is heavy back to Beams Rd at Carseldine, but is also slow after the accident on to the Bruce Highway to Murrumba Downs.

The northbound lanes of the Gateway Motorway are also heavy from the Southern Cross Way to the Bruce Highway.

Heading south, the M1 is congested from Upper Mount Gravatt through to Loganholme and again through Coomera.
